Wazi Hub Project for Women too!

WAZIHUB (in Swahili for Open-Hub) is an innovation project for Africa aiming to create an Open HUB of IoT and Big data cutting-edge and African grade solutions, co-designed by African people.

 

WAZIHUB was launched on 1st May 2018 in Kampala, Uganda,by the Uganda ICT Minister, Frank Tumwebaze as a collaborative problem solving and innovative approach to foster creation of IoT products and services. The launch took place at Hive Colab, one of the consortium partners together with Women in Technology Uganda, based in Sub-Saharan Africa as the implementing partners of the WAZI -Hub project in Uganda.

 

 

Wazihub vision

To exploit IoT potential and share IoT Technologies best-practices through the involvement of innovation communities and stakeholder (e.g. young entrepreneur (including women), startup, developer,innovation Hub) from local district, regional, national and African-wide.

 

WAZIHUB aim

The project aims to enable the creation of Open Hubs throughout Africa where IoT technology solutions can then be adapted to match local service needs.

 

WAZIHUB goal

The project goal is to iterate and extract value from spinning-off value-added IoT innovative services(e.g. monitoring, controlling, data analytic) based on the technologies developed in WAZIUP (www.waziup.eu project website) and FiWARE (www.fiware.org).

 

WAZIUP is a technology-driven EU-Africa project developing a fully open source

(http://www.github.com/waziup) IoT end-to-end (sensors, networking and software) platform (www.waziup.io platform website), specialized to meet African needs in terms of cost, energy, internet connectivity and simplicity.
